Paula Chamlee is a photographer, painter, and film-maker. Her photographs are collected in innumerable private collections and in over forty museums including LA County Museum of Art, Cleveland Museum of Art, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Library of Congress.
From the Field is an ongoing series of photographs of perennial hybrids and wild plants that Chamlee gathers from the fields and by the stream surrounding her studio on rural Bucks County, Pennsylvania. In the studio she makes arrangements through a combination of intuition and her knowledge of the history of still life painting, then photographs the botanical arrangements using large-format 8×10 inch color negatives.
Shibui Folders are extremely pleased to be collaborating with Ms. Chamlee to introduce her work to the public.
